In this presentation, Melissa Rogers gives an American and Christian case for defending Muslims’ free exercise rights. This is her second presentation for the 2011 Walter B. and Kay W. Shurden Lectures on Religious Liberty and Separation of Church and State, held on the campus of Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Rogers is a former BJC General Counsel, and she served as the first chair of President Barack Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Rogers is a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, and she is the director of the Wake Forest University Divinity School’s Center for Religion and Public Affairs.
