The Supreme Court today declined to hear the case of Kentucky Baptist Homes v Pedreira. That decision leaves intact the 6th Circuit's ruling that as state taxpayers (but not as federal taxpayers), plaintiffs indeed have standing to challenge government funding of the institution.

Plaintiffs argue that promotion of religion by KY Baptist Homes violates the Establishment Clause due to taxpayer money that supports the service. The Appeals Court rejected discrimination arguments brought by a former employee, but the church-state issue will proceed.
