As I posted earlier this week, I will be posting updates throughout the day tomorrow of Rep. Peter King's (R-NY) Homeland Security Committee hearing on the "radicalization" of Muslims in the US, presuming he actually goes through with the unfortunate idea. To help us get ready, here are a few links and news reports.
Faith in Public Life provides some fact-checking that debunks one of Congressman King's central claims and witnesses.
The NAACP has joined the call for Rep. King to cancel the planned hearings, sending a scathing letter (pdf) to the Congressman.
Writing in the Washington Post's On Faith page, the BJC's Brent Walker explains how singling out one faith, as these hearings will do, affects us all.
The Public Polling Research Institute finds that a majority of Americans believe the hearings should not focus on just one religion.
The committee's hearing website provides planned panelists and other information.
Tune in tomorrow for updates!
