If you live in or around Atlanta, you have a great opportunity this week to purchase one of the few remaining tickets to hear Melissa Rogers on June 27 and support the Baptist Joint Committee in the process. Rogers is the current Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and Special Assistant to the President.
Each year the Baptist Joint Committee’s Religious Liberty Council holds a luncheon meeting at the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s General Assembly. The Council advocates and educates regarding religious liberty issues and helps ensure funding for the BJC. Previous keynote speakers have included U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards, James Dunn, Bill Leonard, and Suzii Paynter.
Tickets are just $40/person for the luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Downtown. You don’t need to be a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship General Assembly registrant to attend (though registration is free if you are interested). You don’t even need to be a Baptist! Folks from all different denominations and religious backgrounds will be in attendance. It is a great time to gather with other folks from around the country who believe in religious liberty for all.
Purchase your individual tickets online by Friday, June 13 (or purchase a table for 10 for $400 using this link). Or call the BJC at 202-544-4226 to order by phone. Fewer than 70 tickets are left so, as they say in commercials, act now! Don’t miss your chance to hear Melissa Rogers and connect with other supporters of religious liberty!
